The Freedom Swim is a 7.5km open-water challenge that takes participants from the historic Robben Island to the shores of Cape Town. The event serves as a powerful tribute to Nelson Mandela's legacy, tracing the route that carries deep historical significance in South Africa.
Swimmers begin their journey at Robben Island, an iconic site of imprisonment, and navigate the challenging waters of the Atlantic towards the Cape Town waterfront. The experience is described as both an adventure and a commemorative act, with up to 200 participants joining the event to celebrate Madiba’s life and the spirit of freedom.

Aeroporto Internazionale di Cape Town (CPT) a 25km. Stazione ferroviaria centrale di Cape Town a 15km. Raggiungibile in auto via N1 o con servizi Uber/Bolt, molto diffusi. Parcheggi disponibili presso il Waterfront o le aree balneari limitrofe, si consiglia di arrivare presto per la gestione dei flussi.
