About the race
The Brooke Street Pier 1200 is Hobart’s signature city swim, a 1.2km harbour dash that blends urban buzz with waterfront beauty. Set against a backdrop of the historic Brooke Street Pier, the bustling Hobart waterfront, and the towering silhouette of kunanyi / Mount Wellington, this event captures the very best of Tasmania’s capital in one unforgettable swim.
The course takes swimmers across calm harbour waters, offering surprisingly smooth conditions and a unique vantage point of the city from the waterline. You’ll start near the ferry terminal, with its blend of history and modern design, and finish in front of cheering crowds just steps from Salamanca Place, one of Hobart’s most vibrant hubs for food, art, and summer festivities.
