About the race

The Coventry Building Society Great North Swim at Brockhole on Windermere is a weekend-long festival of open water swimming. Expect stunning scenery, the best of local food and drink, outdoor activities, culture, art, history and thousands of like-minded people coming together. Think of it more as an open water adventure than a race.

Whether you’re tackling your first open water swim or going all-out for a 10K, there’s a place for you in the water. The event offers a fully supported course, a festival atmosphere, incredible views and a shared sense of achievement for swimmers at all levels.

How to get there

The event is located at Brockhole on Windermere. Recommended travel includes a Park & Ride service from Rydal Farm (Ambleside, LA22 9PN). Public transport is available via Windermere train station with connections to local Stagecoach bus services (599/555/505). Windermere Lake Cruises also provide shuttle services from Bowness or Ambleside.
