Where to stay
Lodging in Los Titanes and the neighboring resorts consists mainly of family-run rental houses and modest seaside cabins. These properties are often held by local families throughout the winter and become available for short-term rental during the summer season. You will rarely find large-scale hotel chains here; expect private residences or small-scale bungalows. Prices during the January peak range significantly, typically between $80 and $160 per night, depending on proximity to the water.
Things to do nearby
Beyond the race, the Costa de Oro offers a quiet landscape for outdoor exploration. Visitors often spend the following days walking the coastal trails that connect the various 'balnearios' or kayaking in the calmer stretches of the sea. The local culture centers on the 'asado' tradition and seasonal social gatherings in the village squares. For those interested in regional history, the nearby coastal towns provide insight into the development of the Uruguayan seaside resorts during the mid-20th century.
