About the race
The South Maroubra Ocean Swim is an annual event held at Maroubra Beach, organized by the South Maroubra Surf Life Saving Club. It serves as a vital fundraising activity for the club, with entry fees supporting the purchase of essential lifesaving equipment for volunteer lifesavers.
The event is known for its vibrant, party-like atmosphere, typical of summer Sundays at South Maroubra. Participants can enjoy a BBQ from dawn, live music, massage tents, ice baths, and post-swim fruit. The swim is also the final event in the Triple Crown Ocean Swim Series, which includes the Murray Rose Malabar Magic and the Coogee Island Challenge.

Awards
Cash prizes for the fastest male & female: $1000 for the 2.5km, $250 for the 1km, $50 for the 500m (only 8-14 year olds). Prizes from Switch, RCVRI and Engine for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for all ages (prizes for 500m only for 8-14 years). Triple Crown Series prize: 2 x $1000 cash prizes for one male and one female qualifying swimmer.
