About the race
The V&A Waterfront Canal swim is a unique training opportunity offered by ATC Swimming in Cape Town. Described as an amazing experience, the swim takes place in the canals that wind from the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CCTCC) through the residential area to the One and Only Hotel. The venue is highlighted for being clean, safe, and shark-free, with a water depth averaging 1.5m and never exceeding 3m, making it an ideal location for open water practice.
Swimmers meet at the jetty next to the SUP Cape Town shop in the Urban Park at Battery Park. The route to the hotel is roughly 1km, with options to swim around the One and Only Island or exit at various intervals using stairs along the canal. Participants are advised that the water is as cold as the open sea, and wetsuits are highly recommended.

How to get there
Cape Town International Airport (CPT) ligger 20 km væk. Fra Cape Town togstation kan stedet nås på 15 minutter til fods. Til Waterfront kan man benytte taxa/Uber eller MyCiTi-bussen. Parkering er tilgængelig ved V&A Waterfront (betalt parkeringshus); det anbefales at ankomme tidligt på grund af trafik.
