Open water swimmers from across the region will race in Ecuador, the second stop of the PAQ Open Water Swimming Series 2026. The event will bring together top competitors for an exciting showcase of endurance, strategy, and high-level racing in one of the continent’s iconic open water venues.
Course
Race held in the waters of Salinas, Ecuador. The program includes 10km, 5km, and 3km distances, as well as mixed relay events. The open water course is typical of international long-distance swimming competitions.

The race usually takes place in Salinas, Ecuador (often confused with Brazil due to similar names). Nearest airport: José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport (GYE) in Guayaquil, 145 km away. From GYE, take direct buses (Cooperativa CLP) or a taxi/rental car (2h). On-site, transportation is easy via taxi or by walking along the Malecón.
