About the race
Ocean and river swimming has been a long-standing activity in Tasmania, experiencing rapid growth over the past two decades. This surge in popularity is attributed to advancements in wetsuit technology and the inherent pleasure of swimming in the natural environment.
Surf lifesaving clubs across Tasmania host these events to engage with local communities, promote water safety, and provide a secure aquatic environment for participants. The series features diverse courses and formats, taking advantage of various coastal and river venues throughout the summer months, from Burnie to Bridport, Bicheno, and locations between Carlton and Kingston.
